DAY 1 – HANOI | HA LONG BAY | SUNG SOT CAVE | TRINH NU AREA
07:45 — Hanoi Departure Private limousine or shuttle bus transfer from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter to Tuan Chau Marina, Ha Long Bay.
11:30 — Welcome & Check-in Arrive at Tuan Chau International Cruise Port, No. 12. The Amanda Legend team welcomes you in the air-conditioned lounge and completes the check-in procedure.
12:00 — Embarkation | Welcome Aboard Amanda Legend Welcome drink and cold towel on boarding. Your ocean-view cabin is ready. Amanda Legend casts off from Tuan Chau as lunch is served on board in the vessel’s luxurious restaurant — the bay opening around the ship as Ha Long’s limestone islands multiply on every side.
14:30 — Sung Sot Cave Transfer to Sung Sot Cave — Ha Long Bay’s largest accessible cave and the one that most consistently reduces first-time visitors to silence. The approach under jungle canopy, the stepped path up to the cave mouth, and the two successive chambers — each larger than the last — combine to produce the most complete cave experience available in the bay. The guide’s knowledge of the cave’s formation history, its ecology, and the imaginative Vietnamese names given to its stalactite formations adds a layer to a visit that photographs alone cannot convey.
16:00 — Trinh Nu Area | Kayak & Private Beach Amanda Legend brings you to Trinh Nu Area — one of the most secluded destinations in the Ha Long Bay circuit. Trinh Nu Cave is one of the most beautifully lit caves in the bay: a sunlight-filled chamber whose entrance faces east, the natural light entering at an angle that illuminates the cave’s interior in a warm amber glow at certain times of day. Outside the cave, a private beach curves around the base of the karst formation — accessible from the water, invisible from any passing vessel, and completely quiet. Kayak in the jade-colored water, sunbathe on the sand, or simply sit at the water’s edge and listen to nothing.
17:30 — Sunset Party & Cooking Class The vessel moves toward the overnight anchorage as the sundeck fills for the day’s closing hour: Vietnamese tea or coffee, Happy Hour, the bay turning gold, and the chef’s instruction in Chả Giò — Traditional Vietnamese Fried Spring Rolls: ground pork, glass noodles, and mushroom wrapped in rice paper and fried until the shell is crisp and blistered, served immediately with fish sauce dipping and fresh herbs.
19:30 — Outdoor Dinner Dinner served on the open sundeck when the weather allows — a long table above the water, the bay at its most peaceful, the karsts as silhouettes against the darkening sky.
21:30 — Evening at Anchor Herbal foot bath prepared in your cabin by the crew (complimentary). Footsteps of Heritage on the sundeck: a fashion show of traditional Vietnamese costumes from the country’s 54 ethnic groups, presented by Amanda crew members who introduce each costume’s origin and significance before the evening’s music and Sky Bar program continues.
DAY 2 – TITOP ISLAND | HA LONG BAY | RETURN
06:15 — Tai Chi on the Sundeck Dawn Tai Chi with the bay at its stillest — the anchor chain the only sound, the karsts emerging from the mist as the instructor moves through the form with the water behind her.
06:30 — Light Breakfast Coffee, tea, pastries, egg station, Vietnamese phở, and fresh fruit.
07:30 — Titop Island | Hike & Swimming Transfer by tender to Titop Island — the same island visited in Program 1 but experienced differently in the morning, before the tour boats arrive and the summit is briefly, completely, yours. The hike takes 20 minutes; the view from the top — the entire bay spread below in the morning light, the water a different color at this hour — takes as long as you want to give it. Swim at the beach below on the return.
08:30 — Return to Amanda Legend Back on board for a final morning on the sundeck — photographs, sunbathing, a last coffee above the water.
09:30 — Check-out Settle any additional charges and leave luggage with the crew.
10:00 — Early Lunch Buffet Final meal on board: a full buffet at the second-deck restaurant.
11:00 — Tuan Chau Marina | Disembarkation Arrive at Tuan Chau. Transfer to Hanoi or onward connection. Optional Tuan Chau Island bicycle circuit for shuttle bus guests.
