DAY 1 – HANOI | TITOP ISLAND | SUNG SOT CAVE
07:30 — Hanoi Departure Private limousine or shuttle bus transfer from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter.
11:30 — Welcome & Check-in at Tuan Chau Marina
12:00 — Embarkation | Lunch on Board Welcome aboard Amanda Legend Cruise. The vessel casts off as lunch is served. The bay receives the ship gradually: first the outer islands visible from Tuan Chau, then the middle bay’s denser karst formations, then the inner zone where the limestone rises highest and the water runs deepest.
14:30 — Titop Island | Summit Hike & Swimming First afternoon stop: Titop Island — the 400-step summit climb for the bay’s most panoramic viewpoint, or the beach below for swimming in the clear water that has made this island the most visited in Ha Long Bay.
16:00 — Sung Sot Cave The day’s second stop and the bay’s most impressive cave — Sung Sot’s two-chamber system, its stalactite formations, and its guide whose twenty years of knowledge of this particular cave make the visit substantially richer than a self-guided walk would be.
17:30 — Sunset Party & Cooking Class Traditional Vietnamese Floating Rice Cakes with the chef on the sundeck. Happy Hour. The bay at golden hour.
19:30 — Outdoor Dinner The ship anchored, the sundeck set for dinner, the bay in full evening silence.
21:30 — Evening Activities Herbal foot bath, bamboo dancing, Footsteps of Heritage fashion show, squid fishing, Sky Bar.
DAY 2 – TRINH NU CAVE | BA TRAI DAO BEACH | PEARL FARM
06:15 — Tai Chi on the Sundeck The bay before the rest of the world wakes up: mist, stillness, and the Tai Chi instructor’s measured movements against a backdrop of limestone and early light.
06:30 — Light Breakfast Tea, coffee, pastries, and fresh fruit to sustain the morning ahead.
08:30 — Day Boat Transfer A dedicated day boat picks up guests from the main vessel for the Lan Ha Bay excursion — a smaller, more maneuverable craft suited to the shallower channels and narrower passages of the southern bay.
08:45 — Trinh Nu Cave One of Ha Long Bay’s most storied sites: a cave whose name — Trinh Nu, the Virgin — comes from a legend of a young woman abandoned here by a cruel husband and transformed by grief into the cave’s most recognizable formation, a stone figure still visible near the entrance. The geology is extraordinary regardless of the legend: sunlight enters through the cave mouth at an angle that illuminates the interior in a quality of natural light found in no other cave in the bay. Kayak or swim in the jade-colored water outside the cave entrance.
10:30 — Ba Trai Dao Beach Continue to Ba Trai Dao — Three Peaches Beach — a secluded cove of white sand and turquoise water named for the three rounded limestone hills that rise from the water behind it. One of Lan Ha Bay’s most beautiful swimming beaches and one of its most quietly situated: the karst walls around the cove create a natural enclosure that blocks both wind and sound, and the beach sees only the guests of boats that know where to find it. Swim, sunbathe, or simply exist here for ninety minutes.
12:00 — Lunch on the Day Boat A fresh Vietnamese lunch served on board the day boat, anchored in the bay.
14:00 — Pearl Farm Transfer to Amanda’s partner Pearl Farm: a working cultivation facility where Ha Long Bay’s pearl oysters are raised from spat to harvest in cages suspended in the bay’s mineral-rich water. The exhibition center covers the entire process — from the technique of nucleating an oyster with a foreign particle to provoke pearl production, through the two-to-five-year growth period, to the harvest, grading, and setting of the finished pearls. The Pearl Museum contains examples of Ha Long pearls across the color spectrum from white through cream to the rare peacock dark green-black that commands the highest prices in international markets.
15:30 — Return to Amanda Cruise Transfer back to the main vessel. The sundeck, the sauna room (complimentary), the foot bath basin in your cabin, or a massage (supplement) as the afternoon light shifts over the bay.
17:30 — Second Sunset Party & Cooking Class The evening ritual, second night. The chef teaches Bánh trôi — traditional Vietnamese drift cakes — as the bay turns gold around the vessel for the second and final time.
19:30 — Gala Dinner The main event of the second evening: the Gala Dinner on the sundeck, the full menu, the full bay, the full silence of Ha Long Bay at anchor on a clear night.
21:30 — Final Evening The Sky Bar, the night view over the water, and the particular mood of the last night on a bay that has earned its UNESCO designation.
DAY 3 – LUON CAVE | HA LONG BAY | RETURN
06:15 — Tai Chi on the Sundeck The final dawn on the bay. Three mornings of the same light, the same karsts, the same quality of silence — and it never becomes routine.
06:30 — Light Breakfast Tea, coffee, pastries, and fruit.
07:30 — Luon Cave | Bamboo Boat or Kayak The morning’s final excursion: Luon Cave — a low-arched water cave whose entrance requires crouching in the boat as the guide poles through into the hidden lagoon beyond. A circular route through the cave’s interior by bamboo boat or kayak, the limestone walls close on both sides, the water reflecting the formations above. This is the most intimate of Ha Long Bay’s accessible caves: small, quiet, and best experienced in the early morning before the day boats arrive.
09:30 — Check-out Return to the vessel, settle any additional charges, leave your luggage with the crew.
10:00 — Early Lunch Buffet A final meal on board before disembarkation.
11:00 — Tuan Chau Marina | Disembarkation Arrive at Tuan Chau Marina. Transfer back to Hanoi or onward to your next destination. Optional bicycle circuit of Tuan Chau Island for guests using the shuttle bus transfer.
