DAY PROGRAM – HA LONG BAY FULL DAY
07:00 — Hanoi Departure Private vehicle transfer from your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter to Tuan Chau Marina, Ha Long Bay — approximately 3.5 hours.
11:00 — Tuan Chau Marina | Welcome & Boarding Welcome by the Cong Cruise team at the port. Board the day cruise vessel and receive a welcome drink as the crew orients guests to the vessel’s facilities and the day’s schedule.
11:30 — Departure into Ha Long Bay | Lunch on Board The vessel moves into Ha Long Bay’s main channel as the kitchen serves a fresh seafood lunch on board — the marine harvest of the morning prepared simply and well: whole steamed fish with ginger and scallion, grilled prawns, clams with lemongrass, and the fresh vegetables of the season, eaten on board as the bay’s karst landscape unfolds around the vessel with increasing drama.
13:30 — Sung Sot Cave Disembark by tender at the Sung Sot pier for the day’s main event: the cave that named itself Surprise because nothing in the approach prepared the French geographers who first documented it for what was inside. The path climbs under jungle canopy to the cave mouth; the two successive chambers — cumulative in their impact, the second vastly larger than the first — are navigated with a guide whose knowledge of the cave’s formation history, its named formations, and the ecological system that sustains its endemic cave-dwelling species makes the visit as informative as it is visually extraordinary.
14:30 — Scenic Cruise | Sundeck Time Return to the vessel for the afternoon cruise through the bay’s most scenic zones — the middle bay where the karst formations are densest and the water the deepest green, the channels between islands that require the helmsman’s full attention, and the quieter anchorage areas where the bay’s character is clearest. The sundeck is open; the view is continuous; the afternoon light on the limestone is the visual argument for why this bay has its UNESCO designation.
15:30 — Return to Tuan Chau Marina The vessel turns back toward Tuan Chau as the afternoon deepens, the bay behind the vessel and the city coast ahead.
16:30 — Disembarkation | Transfer to Hanoi Private vehicle transfer back to Hanoi, arriving in the city by approximately 20:00.
