Ho Chi Minh City ranked seventh in a list of 10 best cities in Asia-Pacific region at the 2026 Travel + Leisure Luxury Awards, surpassing popular hubs such as Seoul (8th) and Kuala Lumpur (9th).
The annual awards, organized by American travel magazine Travel + Leisure, recognize the region’s leading destinations, hotels and travel experiences based on factors such as visitor satisfaction, hospitality standards, service quality and overall tourism offerings.
Japan’s Kyoto topped the list, followed by Bangkok and Singapore.
Tokyo came in fourth and Hong Kong rounded out the top five.
Ho Chi Minh City showcases the vibrant spirit of southern Vietnam through its dynamic food scene, lively nightlife, bustling shopping districts, and diverse mix of historic landmarks and modern attractions.
The city received over 5.59 million foreign arrivals in the first five months of this year, meeting over 50% of this year’s 11-million target.
